New Cable Park in England

The Blackpool wake park is open soon

Blackpool Wake Park Opens

The North West of England is finally getting a much deserved cable wakeboard park. Blackpool Wake Park based at Ream Hills Farm just outside Blackpool and only 5 minutes from the M55 motorway will open its doors for the first time on 22nd May 2010. The Wake Park will use the revolutionary Sesitec System 2.0 cable tow and will include 4 floating obstacles designed by Alliance Wakeboard Magazine.

The System 2.0 is a 2 tower cable tow device that spans up to 225m and at Blackpool gives a riding area of 196m. The lake at Ream Hills Farm is the perfect setup and length for a System 2.0. A club house, snack bar, changing room and showers have been installed and there is on site accommodation if you want to stay over in a wooden chalet with spectacular lake views.

The 4 floating obstacles are in construction now and include a mellow kicker, 52’ box with mini wall ride, a wakeskate manual box and an incline rail. The rails will be installed in a staggered time frame over the next few weeks as the build up to summer approaches. The obstacles have been designed to cater for all standards of wakeboarder and wakeskater and are designed by Tim Woodhead from Alliance Magazine whose past rail and pool gap designs have been used on the World Series and at events like Wakestock, Rail Masters and many more.

System 2.0
The System 2.0 allows for a continuous ride, it is the perfect way to learn to wakeboard and has close to a 100% record for teaching people to wakeboard. This is due to the incredible speed control the driver has and the upward pull of the cable. Don’t think it is only for beginners though, stick a short indy line rope on and you can learn advanced tricks like raleys and rolls far easier than on a full cable or boat. The System 2.0 is the dream training tool for improving you riding and learning new tricks. On the wakeskate there is no better riding tool, fall in and by the time you have re-surfaced from the water the handle is ready to pick you up again. In fifteen minutes of water time you can try more tricks using a System 2.0 than any other towing device, be it a winch, boat or full cable.
