Parker Siegele Wins Mesenger Youth Sports Awards

Parker Siegele does wake boarding proud.

Letter from Parker Siegele:

On Wednesday 24th November I was invited to attend the 2010 Messenger Youth Sports Awards in Adelaide at Memorial Drive.  As I was on my Year 9 school camp for the week in Victoria the Grampians Mum, Dad and Lucy attended on my behalf.
The awards were a combination of 4 monthly winners from through out the year (I won the April month winner).  This was to choose an overall winner for the year from the monthly winners.  From the individual male Rural section Dylan Roberts won runner up.  Dylan played in the U/16 Australian Hockey team in Hong Kong last year and is from Saint Marks College in Pt Pirie.  I was named the winner which was a huge honour against some pretty talented opponents.  Lucy accepted the award on my behalf and I was so happy that my wakeboarding achievements were recognised.

Troy Brosnan won the metropolitan individual male - he won the 2010 Downhill mountain bike Junior world championship title in Canada.

I have put a bit of info below about the awards and a picture of my trophy and certificate

ABOUT THE AWARDS
"THE Messenger Youth Sports Awards have been running since 1997 and aim to recognise outstanding sporting achievements of young people within the community.
The inaugural male winner was Lleyton Hewitt who went on to become the top ranked tennis player in the world.

Young people between the ages of 10-18 can be nominated for any noteworthy sporting achievement, whether as an individual or team competitor within a school or club competition in SA.

Separate awards are made in male and female categories in each of the five regions north, south, east, west and rural".

I am pretty stoked that wakeboarding was recognised - cheers Parker
