Santa Monica, CA– October 2, 2009 – The Parks Bonifay Documentary, a film showcasing the extraordinary life of wakeboard legend Parks Bonifay, will premiere on the West Coast at the Oakley corporate headquarters in Foothill Ranch on Thursday, October 8th 2009.
Red Bull and Alliance MultiMedia have collaborated on the documentary to reveal the history of an athlete’s quest to push the boundaries of his sport while occasionally flirt with disaster. Not only does the film document his accomplishments, but it also captures his carefree personality, fearlessness and drive. “This is an incredible story of both athlete and family,” said Bill McCaffray, Publisher Alliance Wakeboard Magazine. “Parks has literally been in the media spotlight since he was six months old, and the new exclusive footage in this movie will illustrate why he is still the sport’s biggest name.”
The Parks Bonifay Documentary showcases the extraordinary life of Parks. The Bonifay family tradition in watersports started with his grandparents who were performers at Cypress Gardens. After setting a Guinness World Record as the youngest person to water ski at the age of six months, it’s no surprise that Parks continued the family tradition and started performing at age two. After spending several years competing in the traditional three-event water ski circuit (slalom, tricks and jumping), wakeboarding had emerged and there was no looking back.
